Full Description

Around NB 03540 31568 lay a series of three (possibly four) earthen banks with occasional large protruding field boulders, aligned in parallel in a westnorthwest to eastsoutheast direction (running downhill to the shore), and covering an area of 11.7m north to south by 10.8m east to west. Each bank was between 1.5 and 2m and 0.5 - 0.6m high, with a gap of an average of 2m between banks. Saparating the banks from the sea, the modern fence follows the line of a tumbled drystone dyke. Although the banks most probably represent the traces of lazybed cultivation, a sub-oval depression beetween the southernmost banks may have represented a building setting. On the edge of the northernmost bank, tumbled boulders partially infillilng the space between the bank and the hillside may also have represented the remains of a building or stock enclosure.
