This ferry terminal includes a roll-on roll-off ferry facility which was used by Caledonian MacBrayne ferry services to and from Ullapool but has been replaced in this capacity by the new ferry terminal (NB43SW 32). The Maritime Buildings are of some significance; they are a convincing essay in the Art Deco stylke, even through the design had been carried out with economy in mind and without the guiding hand of an identifiable architect. The building is rather less unchnaged than has been claimed. Some of the original construction elements have had to be replaced due to deterioration from the espoed, aggressive environment in which the structure is located.

This structure was demolished in c. 2007.
