Full Description

Originally identified as midden deposits in a deflation hollow, this site was re-examined by T. Cowie in 1978 when it produced diagnostic Norse pottery. It was partially excavated in 1979, also by T. Cowie. At least two sub-rectangular buildings were found, in midden deposits c. 1.5m thick. The pottery suggested a 10-11 C. date.

T. Cowie pers. comm.

This site has since been destroyed by sand extraction.
