Full Description

SU 2:
This quarry scoop measures up to 9 metres in diameter and forms a rough oval depression in the south facing slope of a small rocky knoll on the west side of track SU 15. This feature has a maximum depth of 2 metres.
Interpretation: This quarry pit is likely to be related to the construction of the track SU 15 and is one of a series of such features including SU 3, 24 and 56 located along its course. It is likely that this track was constructed in the post-medieval period and that the quarries date to the same period.
