Full Description

SU 20:
These two single cells are located immediately adjacent to each other in a line running from east to west along the crest of a bed rock knoll located immediately at the foot of the east facing slopes of Slugach. The knoll is passed on either side by an un-named burn. The westerly cell is constructed of turf and orthostatic stones, measures 5.1 metres in diameter and has a single entrance on its east side. The eastern cell is constructed of turf, is 4.3 metres in diameter and has no discernable entrance.
Interpretation: These cells may represent the remains of a shieling site, though, with the exception of SU 6 and 7, no similar features have been located in the area to the west of South Glen Dale. The possibility that these features repesent the remains of a prehistoric settlement cannot therefore be ruled out.
