Full Description

SU 25:
This turf dyke runs from west north-west to east south-east , NF 78869 15214 to NF 78908 15203, for a distance of 41.75 metres. Its course cannot be traced to the north-west, but can be identified continuing to the south-east as SU 27.
Interpretation: This dyke may form part of the wider medieval/ post medieval period field system perhaps demarking the land associated from Baile B, to the south, from Baile A, to the north. However its fragmentary state suggests that it latterly fell out of use and its maintenance ceased. This may have occured at the time of the apportionment of South Glen Dale which seems to have maintained and used the pre-crofting head dyke, SU45/52, but is likely to have abandoned many of the subdivisions to the east of the head dyke.
