Full Description

SU 30:
The fragmentary remains of this structure are orientated from north to south and measure 13.5 x 5 metres. They survive solely as the largest stones of basal course primarilay of the outer wall face and mark the location of a systematically dismantled blackhouse. No internal features or entrances could be distinguished.
Interpretation: This house has been thoroughly dismantled, with only its largest stones being left to mark its location. Excavations at Beiroh on Lewis have suggested however that floor surfaces may still survive intact within such a dismantled house.
