Full Description

SU 51:
This small patch of north to south rigging measures 17 x 11.5 metres and covers 206 square metres.
Interpretation: This area of feannags is located on the fringes of flat marshy land that is, at best, marginal for cultivation, indicating that it dates to a time when population pressure on the landscape was high, this might have been in the late post medieval/ pre crofting period when populations fluctuated in preparation for and during clearances.
