Full Description

SU 73:
Running from NF 78546 14654 at the head dyke (SU 84) in a westerly direction for 184 metres to NF 78682 14637 this dyke is constructed of turf and is re-enforced in places with stone. At NF 78682 14637 its course disappears for 23.5 metres before starting again at NF 78702 14634 from where it runs for 84 metres to NF 78788 14622. At that point there is a break in its course of 14 metres, there is also a small cellular structure measuring 1.5 metres in diameter constructed in to the north side of the wall. This is built of turf with a stone lining and has an entrance to the north. The dyke continues east for a further 123.5 metres to NF 78920 14604 where its line is cut by the modern road to South Glen Dale.
Interpretation: This dyke marks the boundary between Bailes E and F.
Impact Detail: This feature is cut at its eastern end by the line of the proposed haul road.
