Full Description

SU 81:
This large stone faced earth cored blackhouse is orientated from south-east to north-west and measures 18 x 7.15 metres. It is constructed on a low bedrock knoll to the south of the South Glen Dale road, has apsoidal ends and a single entrance towards the north-west end of the north-east wall. Internally no features can be defined, hawever a number of large boulders have recently been dumped, probably during road construction, in the north-west end obscuring any detail.
Interpretation: This house shows no signs of having been dismantled and probably therefore represents the last occupied in Baile E on the south side of the modern road.
