Full Description

SU 96:
Extremely fragmentary remains of a small turf built, stone lined barn are located to the south-west of blackhouse SU 94. Orientated from west to east and measuring 4.7 x 3.6 metres the northern wall of this structure has been destroyed by road building activities immediately to the north, however an entrance can still be seen in the southern end of the western wall.
Interpretation: It is impossible to say from the extant remains whether this barn contained a kiln or whether it is the surviving remains of a storage barn.
Impact Detail: This site is directly in the line of the proposed haul road.
