Full Description

SU 104:
This feature (and SU 92) represents the continuation of the head dyke, SU 84, to the west and north. Running south from NF 77891 14562 for 48 metres to NF 77872 14521 this dyke is constructed of turf and re-enforced with stone in places, turns to the east and runs for 147.5 metres to NF 78022 14511. From this point the dyke turns to the south for 100 metres to NF 78025 14420 and then to the east for 136 metres to NF 78162 14404 where it terminates at the edge of a peat cutting.
Interpretation: This dyke marks the northern extents of the settlement and in fields on the south coast of the South Uist between Saltavik Bay and Bagh Mor.
