Full Description

SU 130:
Orientated from north to south the fragmentary remains of the turf and earth core barn measure 8 x 6.3 metres. It has opposing entrances at the northern end of the east and west walls, but much of its northern end has been destroyed. This building shows signs of being systematically dismantled. Attached to its east side is a yard running from east to west and measuring 15.5 x 7.15 metres and constructed of turf around a low bed rock outcrop that runs in the same direction.
Interpretation: The remains of this barn have been systematically dismantled to provide building materials for another structure. The yard attached represents a kale or stack yard.
