Full Description

SU 154:
Measuring 8.9 x 3.1 metres the fragmentary remains of this stone and turf feature are orientated from south-west to north-east. Much of the northern and western side of the feature are obscured by the construction activity associated with the modern road alignment. A single cell measuring 1.9 metre in diameter can be seen at the south-west end with an entrance in the north-west wall.
Interpretation: This feature may represent the remains of a cellular shieling, or possibly may be the remains of a blackhouse, heavily damaged on its north-west side by road construction.
Impact Detail: This feature lies directly in the line of the proposed haul road.
