Full Description

SU 157:
The fragmentary remains of this blackhouse survive as an L shaped arrangement of large boulders at its south-west corner and a very slight earthen bank around its remaining wall, no entrance could be defined. Orientated from north to south it measures 12..4 x 6 metres.
Interpretation: This house shows all the typical signs of being systematically dismantled to provide stone for a new house, possibly SU158. It is likely that its floor surfaces remain intact within the extents of the surviving earthen bank that marks the line of its walls.
