Full Description

SU 160:
Situated above the northern shore of Saltavik Bay this small turf and stone cell measures 4.1 metres in diameter and has a possible entrance on its northern side. It is constructed against a large erratic boulder on its east side.
Interpretation: This feature may mark a transhumance site related to grazing activities prior to the general settlement of the area. Alternatively it may mark the site of a robbed cairn, possibly kerbed.
Impact Detail: This structure falls within 20 metres of the adjusted road line for car access to the causeway.
