Full Description

SU 187:
Covering an area of 130 square metres this small fragmentary patch of early feannagan runs from north to south for 16.7 metres over 9.7 metres of the south facing slopes on the south side of Rubha na Moine. It is bounded to the west and the east by larger areas of late square cutting rigs and to the north and south by areas of peat cutting.
Interpretation: Several small areas of earlier feannagan survive on Rubha na Moine (including SU 190, 193 and 198) suggesting that the peninsula was extensively sultivated during the medieval/ post medieval periods.
