Full Description

SU 207:
Located on an inter tidal island to the east of Rubha na Moine this cairn measures 4 metres in diameter and consists of small stones surrounding a possible cist of small edge set stone, located on the cairns eastern side. No kerb is visible.
Interpretation: This potentially Bronze Age burial cairn suggests that other featureless cairns such as SU 203, 204 and 205 could have a similar date. However in terms of their location it should be remembered that sea level has risen at least 3 metres since the Bronze Age and that what currently tidal islands are, were probably part of Rubha na Moine at the time that these cairns might have been constructed.
