Full Description

E 215:
Constructed against the foot of a south south-east facing cliff, the fragmentary remains of this structure measure 4.3 x 2.8 metres. Surviving as a group of orthostatic stones marking the inner and outer wall faces of an earth cored construction, no entrance could be identified.
Interpretation: This feature bears marked similarities of form and location to the two illicit stills excavated at Garenin on the Isle of Lewis, however other possible interpretation should not be ignored including the possibility that this structure is a shieling or an enclosure used for stock management or storage such as a barn.
