Full Description

E 232:
Situated to the east of the modern harbour of Haun (E235), this harbour consists of two boulder built dock edges located on the east and west sides of the bay. The firs to the west runs from NF 79123 12100 in the north to NF 79132 12078 in the south, a distance of 22.5 metres. This boulder dock face revets a rubble core up to 7.2 metre deep. 16 metres to the east the second dock runs from NF 79134 12119 in the north for 13.7 metres to NF 79141 12106 in the south. This face has little rubble core behind it has it is backed by natural bedrock. The two docks stand up to 2 metres high and create the entrance to a harbour enclosing 858 square metres.
Interpretation: The date of this harbour is unclear, though the survival of the dock walls suggest that it is a relatively late construction. It is also not clear whether this harbour operated at the same time as the harbour at Haun (E235) did or whether the two are mutually exclusive.
