Full Description

E 258:
Orientated from north north-east to south south-west this approximately 53 metres long dyke is made of stones and turf. It is 0.5 metres wide and 60 - 80 cm high. It is irregular and meanders through undulating land 60 metres south of Loch Carkavaig. Some of the stones are to be seen, but it is mostly grown over with dry, yellow grass on the structure distinctive from surrounding long grass vegetation. Some erosion along its length (pathways of sheep tracks). Possible extention of a further 10 mertres or so to the north north-east.
Interpretation: The purpose of this dyke is unknown, but most likely it was used once for stock management.
