Full Description

E 268:
This house is rather small, 5.1 x 7 metres, the walls are 0.5 to 1 metre high, but partly collapsed and turfed over. The entrance is in the southern wall. It is located within 20 metres north-east of blackhouse E 269.
Interpretation: This house belongs to a small group of buildings opposite of the small peninsula of Acairseid Mhor. This assemblege of buildings seems not to date into the same period of time. This house was probably used as a smaller ancillary building for house E 269. It seems older than house E 269, due to its mostly dismantled appearance.
