Full Description

E 278:
This ruined blackhouse is orientated from north north-west to south south-east and measures 8.7 x 5.6 metres. The walls are nearly completely covered with turf and plants, but some stones are still visible, it stands not more than 40-50 cm high.
It has a single entrance in the centre of its western wall and is located on a natural platform on an otherwise steep rocky slope down to the coast. The surrounding vegetation is long grass.
Interpretation: The early date of this blackhouse is supported by the bad condition of its walls, and its fairly small dimensions, although its single entrance suggests a later date.
