Full Description

E 300:
This blackhouse is orietated from north-west to south-east and measures 9 x 6 metres. The walls, drystone walling, are still 1 - 1.70 metres high, but partly collapsed and covered with turf. A doorway is located in the centre of the southern wall, as well as two windows, each on one side of the entrance. There is also an extention to the house on its northern side. it lies directly adjacent to the house and measures 3 x 4.3 metres, one of the long sides being part of the back wall of the blackhouse. This side structure has an entrance on the short, south-eastern wall. The walls of this structure are lower than the walls of the blackhouse. This house is situated on a faint slope, overlooking parts of the Coilleag beach and the lower land.
Interpretation: This blackhouse is situated slighthly outside of the main settlement of Coilleag. It dates probably to the Post Medieval, because its walls are still quite high.
