Full Description

E 302:
This blackhouse is situated 13 metres south-east of blackhouse E 301. It meastures 12 x 7 metres and its walls stand just 40 cm high, are partly collapsed and covered with turf and grass. It is orientated from morth-east to south-west. The house consists of two rooms, the bigger being 8 x 7 metres , the smaller 4 x 4 metres. A possible entrance is on the south-eastern wall of the small room, where it meets the short wall of the bigger room. This house stands inside a fenced sheep grazing area.
Interpretation: The unregular shape of this blackhouse, with one big and one small room suggests an earlier date, probably Medieval. The stones have probably been robbed and used to built the house E 301.
