Full Description

E 306:
This house is situated on a platform just to the north-east of cultivation E 308. The building measures 5 x 9.5 metres and the walls (30 cm high) are nearly completely covered with turf. An entrance to the house is not visible.
Interpretation: This building could probably once have been a blackhouse. However, due to the bad condition of the walls, it is not certain at all. The dimensions are rather small for a blackhouse, though Medieval blackhouses tend to be around that size. This could suggest that this is probably the remains of a Medieval blackhouse.
