Full Description

E 310:
This blackhouse measures 5 x 8 metres and is orientated from north to south. The dry stone walls still stand up to 1.5 metres high, but are partly covered with turf. The doorway is in the centre of the eastern long wall. The inside of the house is now filled with rubbish. It is situated on a platform overlooking the bay where today the ferry terminal is located.
Interpretation: This blackhouse is probably one of the later blackhouses (Post Medieval), because it has a single entrance in the centre of one of its long walls.
