Full Description

E 311:
This enclosure has an unregular shape and measures approximately 11 x 10 metres. The walls stand 80 cm high, they are built of stone, but now overgrown with turf and long grass. It is situated on a faint slope facing the coastline, the enclosure lies approximately 5-6 metres above the sea surface.
Interpretation: This structure belongs most likely to one of the blackhouses, E 310 or E 312, although it seems to be older. But the walls of this enclosure were probably never meant to be higher. It was probably used for stock management (e.g. lambing place for sheep).
