Full Description

E 325:
This blackhouse is situated on a platform. It is orientated from west to east and measures 10.2 x 4.6 metres. The walls are mostly collapsed and covered with turf, but parts stand still up to 1.2 metres high. There is a single entrance in the centre of the southern long wall. This house has a small side structure at its western end: it is a wall, parallel to the western short wall and about 1.5 metres apart from it. A short wall at the back (northern side) closes the gap between the house and the side structure, while the gap on the front side stays open.
Interpretation. This blackhouse seems to be of Post Medieval date, this is suggested by the central entrance, and the rather big dimensions of the house. The additional side structure also supports a late date.
