Full Description

E 330:
This blackhouse measures 8 x 5.5 metres and its walls stand still quite high (1.5 - 1.8 metres), and on some spots mortar is visible between the stones. It is orientated from west to east and has a single entrance in the centre of its northern long wall. It also has a small window on its eastern wall. The house is situated on a faint slope, 13 metres apart from house E 328.
Interpretation: This blackhouse most likely dates to Post Medieval or Crofting times, because the use of mortar became common during that time. The good condition of the walls and the single doorway and the window support the late date of this building.
