Full Description

E 342:
This blackhouse measures 8 x 6 metres, its walls stand 1 - 1.5 metres high and are not covered with turf but partly collapsed. There is an entrance in the centre of the north-west long wall, the house is orientated from south-west to north-east. The building is situated on a faint slope with short grass vegetation.
Interpretation: This blackhouse could date to late Medieval or early Post Medieval times. The Medieval date is suggested by the small size of the sturcture but the entrance in the centre of a long wall and the height of the walls indicate a Post Medieval date.
