Full Description

E 352:
These remains of a blackhouse are situated on a faint slope covered with long grass vegetation. It comprises of one room, 8 x 6.5 metres, with an entrance slightly off the centre of a long wall and a side structure, which measures 4.5 x 3.5 metres and is located at a short wall of the bigger room. The walls of the bigger room and the side structure are nearly completely collapsed and covered with turf. They stand 50 - 60 cm high.
Interpretation: This blackhouse most likely dates to the Medieval or late Medieval. The walls are nearly completely gone and the 'living room' is rather small. The side structure could have been used as a storage room or a shelter for animals during winter. The inhabitants of this house could have owned some fields on the small peninsula 120 metres to the north-east.
