Full Description

E 357:
This cultivation complex is situated on both sides of a small stream running from north to south. The field on the western side of the stream consists of feannagan, which are 12 - 14 metres long and orientated from west to east, running across a slope. This field is 30 metres wide and the upper part of it seems to have used terraces to keep the soil from sliding down the slope. The easterly field is 12 metres wide and the rigs are 20 metres long and running downslope in a north-westerly direction.
Interpretation: This site is quite unusual, because no house is situated in the vicinity, to which these fields could belong to. Probably the soil here is extremely good, so the farmers did not care about the long distance from the house. The need of these fields could also be explained by the use of terraces.
