Full Description

E 373:
The walls of this rectangular shaped house are up to 1.6 metres high. It measures 7 x 5 metres, natural stone outcrops was used as part of one wall. The house is orientated roughly from north to south and an entrance is located in the centre of the eastern long wall. This side of the house (eastern) looks directly onto a cliff (1.5 metres apart). From the back wall of the house (western) the small valley with the stream (Abhainn Dubh) is to be seen as well as the cultivation marks E 374 on the other side of the stream. The northern half of the house is now roofed with wooden planks and turf. A wooden wall divides the roofed part of the house from the other half.
Interpretation: This blackhouse seems to date rather into Post Medieval times, because the doorway is located in the centre of a long wall.
