Full Description

E 398:
This house measures 4.9 x 6.8 metres and its walls stand up to 1.4 metres high, but are partly collapsed and since turfed over. The building is situated 8 metres to the east of blackhouse E397, and has the same orientation. An entrance is located in the northern corner of the house. Behind the two houses E 397 and E 398 is a cliff, which provides shelter for the back walls of the two houses.
Interpretation: This house seems to be contemporary with blackhouse E 397 and was most likely used by the inhabitants of that house as a storage room.
