Full Description

NB 1053 3794 Midden deposits exposed in foreshore containing charcoal, shell, plain pottery, and animal bone including butchered or worked bone. No material collected (but check with Joffy Hill?).

Fast eroding beachfront exposing cellular house structures, extensive middens and substantial pottery remains.

Eroding section showing two walls and internal stratigraphy between the two. Internally, midden material & ceramics sealed by wind blown sand layers.
KM 07/2013.

Continued erosion of section was indicated by fallen stones and midden material. Additionally a large amount of ceramic fragments in one location was indicative of a probable single vessel. The vessel was flat based with thick fabric and large inclusions, consistant with BA vessel construction; it was recovered by the AS.
