Full Description

...a stack of dried peat blocks buried about a metre deep in (a) peat-field ... The blocks still retained the finger imprints of the person who cut them. They had been stacked in a rough pyramid, the second stage of the drying process... Careful study of the context in which they were found, and collection of appropriate Carbon 14 samples, enable us to place this peat-cutting around 1500 BC.

NF 710 015
The archaeologist was not aware of the discovery of this Bronze Age peat stack at the time of fieldwalking. However, the grid reference given is to the south of the powerline, and if accurate, the site will not be affected. No sub-peat features were observed in modern peat cuttings within the survey corridor.
