Full Description

SY73 (NL64619109) Wheelhouse, Iron Age.
Location: On the floor of upper Gleann Mor glen close to Allt nam Bodach stream.
Description: The apparently oval shape of 9 x 7 m may be a distorted view due to collapsed and disarranged stonework. Some upright stonework defines part of walls and internal, possibly radial, divisions. The site is an eye catching mound of large disarranged stone work standing out against the surrounding dull vegetation as a bright green target caused by the rank fern growth that has invaded the sructure, but has not been able to compete against the heather outside. The location of the site is deep within the glen of Gleann Mor and close to the stream Allt nam Bodach.
Note: Needs some structural clarification by selective stone removal after accurate measured survey and then resurveying.
