Full Description

S61 (NL687989) Well -embedded stone and earth wall of an oblong building 10.1 x 5.9 m, with a door near centre in the east wall. Blackhouse. Immediately alongside is a second thick-walled building, 7 x 6.8 m, with a door in the short north wall. No trace of a platform or flue; probably a byre.
Branigan and Foster 2000, 22

[NB 6 fig. grid ref. only, so inaccurate. CSB 3/4/01].

This structure is not apparent on the 1st or 2nd edition 6" OS map sheets. It potentially predates the linear settlement of Breivig that is situated closer to the coastal edge.
