Full Description

MY347: Chamber (sic) tomb. Elevated plateau of valley floor. Rectangular, 4.9 x 2.3m, of two possible cells formed with massive vertically placed stone. Sturcturally it appears to have been robbed less severly than usual and a number of the large orthostats are still in their original position. A limited half-section was excavated (see excavations, p. 309) that revealed a burnt soil surface at what may have been the original ground surface - this was left intact. Burnt soils are a common feature of such monuments, but burnt soils from hearths and perhaps heather clearance have been found under less significant monuments (Branigan 1995a:161).
