Full Description

MY385: Viallge road. Valley floor to lower coastal bench. The village road begins on the west side of the township and wends its way up out of the valley of the bay, past the schoolroom and house (MY78), past the site of Crois an t-Suidheachain (MY76) and on to the landing place and crane emplacment at Aneir. For much of its route the road bed is metalled, sometimes paved with large stone slabs and edged with stone blocks. Two well built drystone bridges span small streams, one almost at its end in the village and one just to the south of the school. The bridge at the village end is in a dangerous state with some of the main spanning stones fallen into the stream and should be considered worth repairing before its original form becomes lost in its eventual and inevitable total collapse.
