Full Description

Two site visits produced worked stone, shell-sand lime mortar, and slag (furnace bases). This site is locally known as An Chaisteal, and may be the location of a large, mediaeval house reputed to have belonged to the MacLeods of Lewis. There are suggestions of rectilinear wall lines, but any structure has been heavily robbed. The location is approximate.
