4. A small settlement is located on a green knoll some 30m by 25m on the north-west facing hillside 135m to the north-east of site 3. The site comprises the remains of two buildings aligned north to south. The site is indicated on the 1st and 2nd edition OS maps as an unroofed building.
a) a sub-rectangular building 5.5m wide by 10m long deifned by turf and stone banks up to 2m wide and 0.4m high. The banks show evidence of having been robbed out in places. There is a possible entrance in the middle of the west wall. This building corresponds to the one depicted on the early OS maps.
b) The footings os a sub-rectangular building are located 6m to the north-west of site 4a. This building is less preserved than the one to the south-east. The building is 4m wide by 6m long and defined by stone and turf banks on three sides. The banks are up to 2m wide and 0.4m high. There were no remains of a wall to the north, having probably been completely robbed away.
