Full Description

The robbed remains of a two room, rectangular, stone house, with a stone internal dividing wall, squared corners, and a turf/turf&stone walled garden enclosure to the east, are visible due north of the Borve river and at right angles to it. The house may be 19th C..
MML 25.1.2002

7a: The footings of a rectangular building are located on the north side of Borve beg Burn. The building is aligned north-west ot south-east anad measures 5.5m wide by 18m long. It is divided into two rooms 9.5 and 8.5m long. The entrance into the building is in the south wall leading into the smaller room to the south-east, with an opening at the south end of the dividing wall leading into the larger room to the north-west. The walls of the building are reduced to turf-clad stony banks 0.8m to 1m wide and up to 0.6m high. Teh building is not depicted on the 1st ed. OS map surveyed in 1878, but is shown as an unroofed building by the 1901 revision. This map also depicts a triangular enclosure around the building formed by boundaries to the north-east and north-west and the burn to the south-east. There were no signs of these boundaries at the time of the survey.
