Full Description

G35 (NF676050) Circular stone structure 4.3 m diam. With stones set and embedded as a kerb around the periphery. On the south side two upright stones, 0.86 m and 0.77 m high respectively and each a little over 1 m long, flank a gap of 0.75 m in the stone kerb. Within the circle at this point is a recumbent regular stone block 0.85 m long and 0.4 m wide. The impression is that two megaliths flanked an entrance into the circle, and that an upright stone stood in the entrance. The interior of the the structure has many stone blocks within it, but these are not heavily embedded and appear to be much more recent than the circular structure itself. There is no suggestion of any cairn inside the kerb, and given that the kerb is still in place, it is unlikely that cairn material has been totally robbed out. Possibly a prehistoric burial/ ritual monument in the BA tradition with some much later reuse and/ or reworking.
