Full Description

"Measuring 4 metres from east to west and 4 metres from north to south this spring takes the form of a depression in the top of a low rise immediately to the west of Cnoc nan Clach. The depression appears to have a number of stones set in that form a low open pit up to 1 metre deep that may be the seat of a spring or well. This feature overlooks the western shore of the burn that runs down the west side of Cnoc nan Clach, and is overlooked by the stone setting at the summit of the hill (5.3), the twin orthostats being particularly prominent on the sky line." Part of a ritual landscape. "Including the stone circle and setting on Cnoc nan Clach and the standing stone at Sildonis (NB21NE04) this landscape seems to dominate the slopes above the south-western end of the sea loch - Loch Erisort. Other elements might include the spring or well (5.4) located in the valley immediately to the west of Cnoc nan Clach and the chambered cairn located ca 1000 metres to the south of the burn that runs past its west side (5.5)."
