Full Description

"Running from the southern end of Loch Dubh for 175 metres to Loch nam Bodach this dyke marks the eastern extent of field system (42). It is constructed variously of stone, stone and turf and just turf, has a basal width of 1 metre on average and stands between 0.5 and 1 metre tall. This feature is likely to date to the pre-crofting period as the field system it is a part of dates to that period, however, it might have continued in use through to the crofting period as a means of controlling areas of grazing on the east side of Cromore." (Burgess 2004, 121)
