Full Description

"Situated on the southern shore of Eilean Orasaidh, overlooking the straits of Coalas nan Crubag, the remains of this enclosure measure 4 x 3 metres and are orientated from west to east. Standing no more than 0.3 metres high the walls of this structure are marked by edge set stones protruding through the surface of the turf. Probing suggests that these stones are part of more substantial walls buried in the peat to a depth of 0.5 metres or more. Sub-rectilinear or oviod in shape, the form and preservation of this enclosure is similar to two seen to the north-west above the shores of Loch Dubh (44.1 and 44.2) which, due to their partially buried nature, are thought to be late prehistoric or Norse in origin. The location of this structure suggests that it might be a sheiling or structure related to marine industry: fishing, kelp gathering etc." (Burgess 2004, 123-124)
