Full Description

"Situated at the southern end of the valley between Sorval and Mullach Nead a'Chlamhain overlooking the northern shore of Loch Mharabhig, the remains of this blackhouse measure 9 x 4 metres overall, are orientated from north to south and stand to a maximum height of 0.75 metres. The extant building measures 5 x 4 metres and utilises the north, west and east walls of the original building, which are constructed of stone faces with an earthen core. This building has been shortened on its south side by the insertion of a drystone wall. A single entrance at the centre of the later southern wall provides the access to the interior, where no features or partitions can be defined. The original blackhouse structure on this site is of the general proportions of those seen in the vicinity that date to the late pre-crofting and early crofting period. This house has been heavily reworked and shortened to produce a smaller building that may have been used as a fishing sheiling or for stock management." (Burgess 2004, 151)
