Full Description

"Situated at the south-eastern outflow of Loch Beag na Tanga the remains of this dam are constructed of drystone and are largely submerged. Running for 3 metres from the north to south across the neck of the outflow this structure maintains an artificially high waterlevel within the loch. This may have two purposes. Firstly, to increase the head of water feeding the mills (49.1 and 49.2) on the River Torastay, secondly to improve the flow of water for game fishing." (Burgess 2004, 164)
